Bio

Jeremy grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he was a founding member of one of the UPís first punk bands - The Regulars. He now lives downstate in Plymouth (near Ann Arbor and Detroit) but maintains many ties to the area and often incorporates those ties, locations and stories into his songwriting.

Jeremy was a founding member and front man for seminal Detroit bands The Offramps (2000-2008), SlugBug (1992-2000) and Fidrych. He has been touring, recording and playing out since he was 16 years old, garnering a reputation as a skilled songsmith and guitarist.

In January of 2010, Jeremy released his debut solo album Party of One on Magwheel Records, a Toronto based independent label with an impressive roster that includes releases by Spoon, Great Lakes Swimmers, Chino, Feerless Freep, and a posthumous rarities compilation from legendary Canadian punk-pop pioneers (and a big influence on Jeremy's sound) The Nils. The tracks on Party of One range from the full-band-power-pop that people have come to expect from Jeremy to quieter, darker and acoustic songs. Throughout 2010 Jeremy toured behind the record playing over 40 shows across the USA and Canada.

Giving in to a desire to hit the stage with a band again, Jeremy formed Jeremy Porter & The Tucos in November 2010. The new band is going strong - releasing records and touring North America. Please visit the website for all the information!.
