Most people know Detroit-based singer/songwriter Jeremy Porter from his band, Jeremy Porter and The Tucos, who’ve made a name for themselves releasing albums and touring across the US, Canada, and the UK since 2011, but Jeremy is an accomplished solo-acoustic performer too. Since the release of his latest solo album Dynamite Alley (GTG Records, 2024), he’s been all over, playing songs from that album, The Tucos, and more. When describing his sound, Nashville Gab magazine perhaps said it best: “...the hooks from your favorite Cheap Trick record and the dark humor from a Tom Waits ballad soaked in a puddle of beer next to Paul Westerberg’s amp.” It’s honest, original, and heartfelt music.
Jeremy Porter is a Detroit, Michigan-based guitarist, singer/songwriter, and producer. He’s best known for fronting his Detroit Rock and Roll band Jeremy Porter and The Tucos, and touring solo-acoustic between Tucos’ album cycles. JP&T have toured the US, Canada, and the UK extensively, released 4 albums, and opened for the likes of everyone from Soul Asylum, Cracker, and American Aquarium to Lydia Loveless, Supersuckers, and Jesse Malin. As a solo-artist, Jeremy strips his songs down to the bone, with an acoustic guitar and a voice, which lends itself perfectly to listening rooms, breweries, dive-bars, music-friendly grills, and small theatres. He’s played `em all and then some, balancing the entertainment/audience aspect with the craft of songwriting and performance, adjusting as he goes to fit the mood of the room.
